Dean of the College of Business Administration

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites nominations, applications and inquiries as it seeks an experienced leader with a deep commitment to access and academic excellence to serve as the next dean of the College of Business Administration.

The UIC College of Business Administration (CBA) embraces a rich and diverse culture, evolving and adapting to changes reflected in the local and global business community and providing a destination of choice for aspiring business leaders. The college has seen significant growth and change over the last decade. Enrollment has grown over 65 percent at the undergraduate level (totaling more than 3,700 students today) and 70 percent at the graduate level (totaling more than 1,000 students). This is due in part to the creation of new Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees across the college. Nearly 150 faculty members are represented across the college's six academic departments—Accounting, Finance, Information and Decision Sciences, Managerial Studies, Marketing, and the Stuart Handler Department of Real Estate. CBA has risen significantly in the UT-Dallas Research Rankings, going from #128 to #70 in North America over the last decade.

The next dean of the UIC College of Business Administration must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be an accomplished scholar with credentials suitable for a tenured appointment at the rank of full professor in one of the disciplines represented in the college. The individual should have significant experience and a demonstrated ability to work across the range of disciplines represented in the college.

The University of Illinois Chicago is Chicago’s only public research university and is a Department of Education-designated Minority-Serving Institution (MSI). It serves as a thriving hub for research, education and innovation, and serves 33,747 undergraduate, graduate and professional students in 16 colleges, including seven health sciences colleges. UIC’s FY22 research award portfolio nearing $500 million supports over 3,500 different sponsored research projects and produces drug and technology licensing revenue of more than $35 million per year. UIC ranks 4th in research expenditures among high Hispanic enrollment institutions in the 2020 NSF Higher Education Research and Development Survey.
